Rebecca L. Stewart


Rebecca is an illustrator and graphic novelist working from the Nicholas Building in Melbourne.

In the ‘90s she worked in 2D animation on short films, ads and TV shows including Li’l Elvis Jones and the Truckstoppers. She taught character animation in Singapore, production edited a birdwatching magazine, and until recently, worked as a freelance copywriter. She is also president and co-founder of a small non-profit fencing club based in Melbourne.

Rebecca creates book and album covers, packaging design, and regularly illustrates for Aurealis magazine. In 2022, she published her first graphic novel – an undersea sci-fi story called Infernal Regions. This book is about a drowned Prime Minister who discovers an abyssal society made of machines, sea life and waste, who are drowning from the deluge of human garbage above their heads.
