Eleven days after the landings at Gallipoli the ANZACs were called upon to support the second British attack on the village of Krithia. The 2nd Australian Infantry Brigade, the New Zealand Brigade and most of the ANZAC artillery were involved.
The battle resulted in 6,500 British, French, Australian and New Zealand casualties. The line was advanced by a mere 500 metres.
