Terry’s Trek, Illustraions of my Father

In 2021 Terry Cleary walked from Karumba on the Gulf of Carpenteria
to Cape Jervis, the southern end of the Heysen Trail.
The transcontinental journey took three months and was approximately
3300km long.

Piet Crosby and Pete Buckland supported Terry on the road; his family
kept him motivated from afar and his son, Nick (that’s me) drew pictures
that both ridiculed and honoured the man’s mission. These weekly
comics were published on Terry’s Facebook page: ‘Coast to Coast –
Terry’s Trek,’ a place where Terry detailed his journey daily with
photographs and rich blog posts.

‘Terry’s Trek – Illustrations of my father’ compiles each comic with in-depth
notes of Dad’s journey and where I found my artistic inspiration.
