About Me:

I am an artist, writer and educator who lives and practices on the traditional lands of the Terramerrgal, Gadigal and Wangal peoples of what is otherwise known by its colonial name as Sydney. I work across a range of mediums, including drawing, graphic narratives, painting, musical performance and installation. As a teenager I was nurtured on a steady diet of horror films, Surrealist art, heavy metal music, fantasy literature, and the works of Bill Sienkiewicz, Ernst Fuchs, Jeffrey Catherine Jones, Mobeius and Bernie Wrightson. I am now interested in how the often-maligned genres of comix and cartoon art – with its long tradition of subversive humour and absurdism – might provide new opportunities for social criticism and understanding. I also play in the heavy metal band Hazeen alongside my good friend Can Yalcinkaya.
