KINGS Comics is Australia’s most well-known comic book and pop culture specialty store. Recognised internationally, KINGS Comics retails the widest range of comic books and graphic novels in Australia, as well as a comprehensive range of current collectible merchandise. KINGS is Sydney’s premier pop culture destination and since 1986 has led the way creating awareness of the comic book industry and delivering comics retailing initiatives to many customers.
KINGS Comics started as a mail-order service back in the 1980s by owner George Vlastaras. However in 1986 he decided to open a retail store in a below street level location in Elizabeth Street, Sydney and things have never been the same. KINGS Comics immediately stood out from other comics’ retailers of the time by offering exceptionally high levels of friendly customer service, easy to place subscription services and a broad selection of products.
KINGS Comics quickly became the industry leader in the late 80s, developing Australia’s first computerised retail program to cater specifically to comics-retailing.
